Jimmy Leslie doing New Orleans style music
$15 for music only  / door prizes
Jimmy Leslie is a renaissance man on the Bay Area music scene. He’s a “freehand” guitarist with a funky roots-rock style,
a soaring soulful singer, a multi-faceted writer, and an event producer. Leslie’s artistic credits include a pair of original records
backed by top New Orleans musicians. Dance Until Forever has the rhythm section from the Honey Island Swamp Band
(Voted Best Roots Rock Band in New Orleans by Offbeat) and its single “Voodoo Doll” features Eric McFadden (P-Funk, The Animals).

Surfin’ the Swamp features the world-renowned rhythm section of Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio from Galactic.
Leslie has also shared the stage with Cajun blues maestro Tab Benoit, Louisiana slide guitar king Sonny Landreth, and
Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers. For many years, Leslie played with Shana Morrison—Van Morrison’s daughter—
including gigs opening for Van at the O2 Arena in Dublin, and in SF at the Masonic.

Leslie is also the leader of the Bay Area’s premier Allman Brothers tribute—the Allmond Brothers,
and has played with Gregg Allman’s son Devon many times, including the Allman Family Celebration at Fillmore each of the past two years. Jimmy is currently Editor of Guitar Player magazine’s Frets acoustic section, and he coordinates GP Presents events.

Leslie authored the musical marine epic; Guitarfish Adventures Vol. 1:Blue Is the New Green (forward by Bootsy Collins)
that helped spawn the Guitarfish Music Festival in the Tahoe area, and he serves as its Blue Director helping spread the good word
about marine preservation. He’s also the co-founder of the Star City Music Festival in Brisbane, CA,
coming back for its third annual event this year on August 17th
