Here's our trophy case of the races we've been particularly honored to win.

Larry Knight Perpetual Trophy

The Larry Knight Trophy was established by the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association in 1965 to foster competitive spirit among its members. The trophy is awarded to the winner of the Islander 36 class racing in PICYA's Lipton Series, with one yacht entered per club. In 2010, the Lipton Series was held July 17-18 at the Golden Gate Yacht Club. It's a distinctive award, with a silver cup on a pedestal framed by two engraved wreath-like horns with boats racing upon the base. This is the first time SBYC has won this award.

The Champion of Champions Trophy

The Champion of Champions is a series of three races run in one day, with participation strictly limited by invitation to 14 boats that represent the One-Design Class Association (ODCA) fleet winners among the seven ODCA classes. Seven boats are the ODCA winning boats from the so-called Party Circuit, the other seven from the regular ODCA season races. The Party Circuit consists of three two-race events (Vallejo Season Opener, Encinal 2nd Half Opener and the Corinthian Season Closer). The regular season has six race days. This year, the long-winning Catalina 30 Goose won the regular season in the 180 handicap division, tied for first in the Party Circuit with its fellow SBYC Catalina 30 Huge, and won the Champion of Champions series.
This is the first time SBYC has won this award.

The Jazz Cup

The South Beach YC - Benicia YC Jazz Cup

The Jazz Cup is a challenge trophy between South Beach Yacht Club and Benecia Yacht Club, and it is a distinctive long-bell Ambassador trumpet mounted on a wood base. The Cup originated from a 1989 challenge between the brand new South Beach YC and Benicia YC, and it is awarded to the club having the fastest boat in a race from a point off Treasure Island to Benicia. A succession of South Beach boats has won the Jazz Cup in recent years.
