On The Water
South Beach Yacht Club is proud of its strong on-the-water program. Since our founding in 1988, we have built one of the finest racing programs and one of the best race committees on San Francisco Bay, we have a large and growing youth sailing program, and we organize from eight to 14 cruises per year to other clubs.
Most of our members own a boat or have regular access to one by crewing, renting or being in a boat partnership.
We're a fun club on the water, and we look forward to seeing you there.
We've got a 60-boat summer series on Friday nights, a mid-winter series on Saturdays, historic Jazz Cup race, big boat racing and championships, and a soon to be launched small boat racing program for adults and kids.
For more on our racing program go to our Racing Page.
We enjoy one of the best cruising grounds in the world. Our cruise-out program to other clubs takes us around the bay, up the Petaluma and Napa Rivers, into the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta, and out the Golden Gate Bridge to coastal destinations including Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

The center of South Beach YC's youth sailing program is our summer camp. In the early years of our club we held a weekend program, but starting in 2007 we switched to a summer day camp program during the week and haven't looked back. That first year we ran it two weeks. With growing demand we went to three weeks in 2008 and 2009, four weeks in 2010, and five weeks in 2011. Through partnerships with community organizations we have supported participation by low-income families.
We've got plans to add inter-club youth racing through the Bay Area Youth Sailing (BAYS) association.
More information on our summer camp is at our Youth Sailing Page.
